More Mirrors!

From the same house as the "Fab Foyer" posting I bring you my favorite dining room. Again, we went with more Greek pillars support a piece of glass to create a beautiful and unique side table. The paint is also a unique shade of chocolate brown meets charcoal gray; it really pops against the white lacquered wood work and the pillars. It is dark and regal and creates a very welcoming atmosphere.

Watts Redesign

The Watts Family just moved into a beautiful, new home and they were excited to make it their own. The living room and dining room are connected for an open space that will make a great place for entertaining family and friends. Kerri (wife and mother of 3 cuties) wanted something family friendly, yet sophisticated and chic. With the woodwork a light/honey oak we decided to paint a couple of the walls a dark bronzie-gray to create a nice "pop." The windows were a tricky fix as they were very close to the corner or the wall on one side and the other was overlapped with the fireplace mantle. So, we went with a long drapery panel of silk in a shade of peridot. With a bold pair of canvasses, a floor lamp and a few vases and other accessories we created a look that was both kid friendly and sophisticated. See Below:

Puppy's Room: New Art!

I've always admired this Van Gogh piece, Almond Branches. But, my house doesn't offer a space that welcomes the blues and teals in the print. However, while hanging with the pup in her room I decided she needed some art on the wall adjacent to the painted-by-me branches with leaves, so I decided to splurge on my beloved Van Gogh.

Couture Parlor

This room is at my parents house and some 10 years ago it was the bedroom that belonged to yours truly. :-) Now, however it has been transformed into a stunning parlor and viewing room for my photographer mom's clients. A deep, bold paint color hugs the walls while the white woodworking and zebra stripes hold for an outstanding contrast. This room makes you very comfortable...to the point where it is hard to leave.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall...

I believe in mirrors. Lots of Mirrors. Not for personal vanity reasons but for the reflection of light and space that they offer. They can really open up a room to make it feel larger and or brighter. Below is a beautiful set up where we actually wallpapered this accent wall and adorned it with a shimmery gold mirror an unfinished stone table and a few coordinating accents. It is one of the "Wow Factors" of this home.

Guest Room: UPDATED!

I was given a really cool shelf, which I spray painted black (of course) and hung it in the corner. I also framed some pictures of a recent snowboard trip and hung them above a few travel cases I have picked up at thrift stores over the last few months. Those travel cases then went under a bit of a spray paint makeover too. They are now home to my sewing supplies and tools.

2010: A Couture Christmas

Green and Gold Glam. Fabric swags. Pearls and Swirls. Feathers and Sticks and Pineapple Grass. This tree turned out to have a ton of style and a splash of romance. As I write this I sit cozily on my zebra chaise, cup of chamomile tea cooling off next to me, all lights off except for that of the tree and they dance magically; filling the room with twinkling, holiday blitz. I am officially ready for the season.
A unique ornament I wanted to try this year was a photo frame. It really creates a romantic feel for the tree...like a love tree. haha! It's our love tree...
For a tree topper I wanted something whimsical yet glamorous so I tied the fabric to create the look of the half of a bow complimented with peacock feathers and glitzie sticks.
And for the fancy shot (compliments of my beautiful mother):
Can't you just feel the warmth of the holiday season? Nothing cozier.
